Miguel Martinez
Principal Concept Artist at Guerrilla Games
Miguel Martinez is a Concept Artist whose childhood fascination with spaceships and robots led him to study Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Spain, before pursuing a career in concept design. He made an early mark with his short film Cosmonaut Koverchenko, which won multiple awards at the Imagina CG Animation Festival in Monte Carlo and secured him a role as an animator at Oniria Pictures in Luxembourg.
Miguel's talent for ideation and core concept work led him to Guerrilla Games in Amsterdam, where he advanced from Senior Specialist Artist/Animator to Senior Concept Artist. He contributed extensively to the vehicular, environmental, and mechanical designs of the Killzone series, emphasizing functional realism and industrial design to define the games’ visual language.
As Principal Concept Artist on Horizon Zero Dawn, Miguel helped establish the foundational world design, translating his engineering background into the game's iconic robotic creatures and immersive environments. His work blends technical precision with imaginative storytelling, shaping compelling, believable worlds and continuing to influence Guerrilla’s approach to concept design.
